Mediterrania Capital Partners (MCP) is one of DEG's long-standing partners, and we were able to assist them in developing a climate strategy. MCP provides growth capital for medium-sized companies in North Africa and in French-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa. At the same time, MCP assists its portfolio companies with their commercial development, corporate governance, and environmental and social management.

We were able to support MCP in designing a fund level climate strategy and in performing GHG screening for selected portfolio companies using our Business Support Services. This enables MCP to accompany its investee companies in mitigating their impact on climate change and adapting to the changing climate, as well as to identify the portfolio companies that provide the largest lever for mitigation efforts and/or are most vulnerable to the climate change.
